Delegate shares lessons in hope

ST. LOUIS — While serving as a lay delegate at the 2012 General Conference, Oscar L. Garza of Cypress Trails United Methodist Church in Spring, Texas, received word that his wife’s ovarian cancer had returned. For the next four years, he watched his wife gradually deteriorate until her death in 2016. The lessons of faith he learned during that season have empowered him to serve as a lay delegate at the 2019 special session. Sherri Gragg has the story.
