Scouts, UM Men look to the future

United Methodist Men and the church’s Scouting America ministry held its first gathering since 2017. One big concern was reaching young men.

Scouts assemble 5,000 flood buckets

West Virginia United Methodists played an important role at the 2023 Boy Scouts of America National Jamboree in Mount Hope, West Virginia. Throughout the 10-day Jamboree many of those Scouts helped assemble 5,000 flood buckets for the church’s West Virginia Conference Disaster Ministries.

Scouts continue molding leaders

After a challenging few years where sexual abuse dominated the news and COVID-19 made meeting difficult, Boy Scouts like those in Troop 398 are busy molding leaders and getting kids unplugged and outdoors.
