(UM News) — The United Methodist Church’s top court strikes down the Mississippi Conference’s process to let churches leave with property after the denomination’s disaffiliation policy expired. The decision, released before the start of the Mississippi Annual Conference, is the most recent to emphasize that closures cannot be used as alternative paths for church disaffiliations. Mountain Sky Conference Call for prayer after violence in Boulder
DENVER — Mountain Sky Conference Bishop Kristin G. Stoneking is calling for prayer after the attack against Jewish protesters in Boulder, Colorado, peacefully marching for the release of hostages held by Hamas. The attack resulted in the hospitalization of at least eight people, some severely. “We grieve over the harm to those injured, and pray for their healing in body and spirit,” Stoneking wrote.
