Flooding Relief Assistance in Half Moon Bay

Flooding Relief Assistance in Half Moon Bay

The recent storms produced significant flooding in a number of communities, one of which was Half Moon Bay. The Pilarcitos Creek flooded about 20 homes in an affordable housing community for low income and agricultural workers.

On short notice, we provided 24 cleaning buckets to Ayudando Latinos A Sonar, ALAS, a local non-profit serving that community.

Two of our Conference Early Response Team volunteers, Doug and Mary Ellen Huey, drove to our Stockton depot and then down to Half Moon Bay.  Berni, the Executive Director of ALAS, was so grateful.  We will be providing further assistance to this flooding recovery and others as needed.

We can use some help replenishing our cleaning bucket supply and donations to the Disaster Response Ministry are always appreciated.  You can donate at California-Nevada Disaster Response Fund (brtapp.com)
